What if, on Viale Belfiore, there was a place where you could meet — as a couple, with friends, family, or for a business lunch — where everything is made with seasonal ingredients, rooted in Tuscan tradition, yet reimagined with a contemporary twist that still manages to surprise?
A unique restaurant in Florence, where everything is done ammodino — that curious alignment of stars where every detail falls perfectly into place. What would you call it?
We call it Ammodino.
Authentic dining in Florence: a restaurant with soul
In a world of constant rush, deadlines, and tight schedules, we like to think there’s still room in Florence to slow down and enjoy good company. Even better if it’s around a table — whether you’re spilluzzicando, eating a quattro palmenti, or sharing your plate for a taste of everything.
This is the idea — the feeling — that inspired our restaurant.
Eat near Leopolda Station where atmosphere meets design
But first, let’s set the scene. Just steps from the Leopolda Station, inside The Social Hub on Viale Belfiore in Florence, there’s an open space where rustic charm meets bold design: theatrical installations, floor-to-ceiling windows with a metropolitan view, leafy corners, and playful pop details.
And it’s here — between atmosphere and imagination — that the heart of our culinary experience takes the stage.
Tuscan cuisine reimagined: our signature menu
Our kitchen is an ode to Tuscan tradition — the kind that’s made to be shared, joyfully and generously. (But if you’re not the “just a bite?” type, don’t worry — everyone eats the way they like.)
And what can’t be missed in any self-respecting Tuscan kitchen? The Tagliere Ammodino: a wooden board stacked with Casentino cured meats from the Selve di Vallolmo, cheeses from small Tuscan producers, giardiniera, pappa al pomodoro, and gnocco fritto.
Or maybe — from our Sfizi & Fritti section — the Frittino dell’Aia: chicken finger bites crusted with four types of seeds, French fries, and spring onion mayo. A dish that smells like vegetable gardens in the hills or fragrant hedgerows in the countryside.
We also serve dishes made for two, like the Cordon Bleu XXL: veal sirloin stuffed with mountain Fontina and cooked ham, wrapped in a golden, crispy crust.
But after all this talk of sharing and assaggini, the real question is: “How does that actually work?”. That’s where our Meglio Insieme comes in.
- Designed for conviviality, the Meglio Insieme is a large table for you and your crew — friends, family, colleagues, lovers, and the more, the merrier — where you can enjoy the best of our menu together.
Among the highlights: our MaiPari Orecchiette— handmade pasta tossed in a veal meatball sauce. A true Italian classic and the perfect first course to share at the Meglio Insieme, featured in our Guilty Pleasures to Share menu.
(Curious about the name MaiPari? We’ll reveal it soon in a dedicated post — stay tuned!)
Tuscan Wines & Cocktails: in vino veritas
At Ammodino, we eat with joy — and drink just the same. Special care goes into our Tuscan wine selection, a real tribute to our homeland.
And if your tastes lean more toward shakers and spirits, head to the bar counter — ideal for an aperitivo, a casual chat, or a final amaro to help you digest and maybe even reflect.
